About Us

A Brief History

MW Beer & Co. Ltd founder, Mike Beer, after a successful career trading oils and fats in The City, started his fledgling business in a small office in Billericay High Street in 1981 with a staff of two including his wife, now the present owner of MW Beer & Co. Ltd., Mrs Lynn Beer.

Business progress saw MW Beer & Co. Ltd move to larger premises in Wickford, Essex in 1987. During this period, Mike bought two coastal ships for movements between Hull and the European continent carrying vegetable oils and fats for the UK animal feed industry. The vessels were later decommissioned having fulfilled their roles.

In 2010, MW Beer & Co. Ltd. moved to larger new office premises in Ingatestone, Essex expanding in line with business growth and opportunities in the sustainable feedstocks for the worldwide biofuel energy sectors.

With the sad passing of our beloved Chairman Mike Beer in 2020, his eldest son. Martin Beer has taken on leadership of MW Beer & Co. Ltd. for the next phase of development opportunities and expansion into sustainable raw materials on the global platforms available to MW Beer & Co. Ltd.
